Founder’s Day 2007
Founder’s Day was held on April 14, 2007, at the Nu Chapter fraternity house in Raleigh with special guests Dr. James Oblinger, Chancellor of NCSU and Dr. Thomas Stafford, Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs of NCSU. Over 150 alumni, wives of alumni, undergraduates and parents of undergraduates were in attendance. Activities began on Friday afternoon with a golf outing at RGA Golf Course in Raleigh. Friday evening the undergraduates sponsored a free BBQ dinner as brothers shared stories and began a trip down memory lane.
Saturday morning activities began with the alumni gathering in the lower level of the fraternity house to look at photos, scrapbooks, and AGR memorabilia while talking about those memorable AGR days.
After socializing and touring the house, the luncheon began around noon under the tent in the parking lot with the now famous “more than you can eat” buffet feast provided by the “Filling Station” from Robersonville, NC. During lunch, Dr. Oblinger provided insight on the exciting accomplishments and endeavors on the NCSU campus.
A “Drawing” was held during the luncheon for those brothers that sent in their response by March 20. Brother Nelson McCaskill of Statesville, NC, won $100 and Brother Tom Hroza of Mt. Olive, NC won a $50 Lowes Gift Certificate. It pays to respond early!
